Flotier is a real company, with real people, building toward a specific and unglamorous goal: making every rooftop capable of generating its own electricity, day or night, summer or winter.
Every commercial and industrial rooftop sits in a wind field that traditional turbines were never designed to use — too turbulent, too variable, too low-speed. That's not a reason to give up on wind in cities. It's a reason to design differently.
This isn't a pivot for Flotier. It's the same conviction the company was founded on: that decentralised, on-site energy generation should be available everywhere the sun doesn't always shine.
Flotier's founder and CEO, Petr Šťastný, was talking with his wife one evening about whether it was actually possible to build a genuinely energy-independent house. Solar panels? Great — but what about at night? In winter, when the sun barely shows up?
"We're missing wind," he said.
So he built a first prototype turbine in his garage. When it finally spun, he nearly cried — not because it was elegant, but because he now knew it was possible.
That evening became the idea behind Flotier: give every building the ability to actively participate in its own energy production — quietly, independently, wherever the wind blows.
We're not a wind farm in the countryside. We're not an add-on for wealthy eco-enthusiasts. We're the missing link between solar and true energy freedom.
Initial research into urban wind behaviour and the limitations of traditional turbines in dense environments.
Windees founded in the Czech Republic; first turbine prototype developed for rooftop installation.
4,000+ hours of R&D and 600+ CFD simulations across design variants.
Aerodynamic testing and validation of the turbine design in controlled wind tunnel conditions.
Granted in the Czech Republic; a second patent filed with an EU-wide process underway.
Czech Republic pilot underway now; Slovakia, Sardinia and Poland planned within three months.
Moving from pilots into serial manufacturing, with rollout through distributor and installer partners.
